What Do You Need Before You Install Rain Gutter
Before you install the rain gutter, you need to know what to buy. When reading the Rain Gutter Installation Instructions, you will learn how to measure for the product and what tools you will need for the installation. The first step to the project will be to get all of your correct measurements for the rain gutters and make a list of all downspouts, joiners, brackets, elbows, end caps and downspout outlets.
When you are following the Rain Gutter Installation Instructions, the first thing you need to determine is where the gutter will go and map it out. Once you have it all mapped out, measure the sides of the house where you will install the gutters and figure out how many 10 feet sections you will need. If you measure 93 feet, know you will need ten 10 feet sections. You will need joiners for areas that need more than a 10 foot section. If the back of your house measures 45 feet, plan on using two end caps, four joiners and about fifteen brackets. Brackets should be used every 18 to 24 inches. You will also need to measure the height, from the ground to the rain gutters, and determine how many sections you need. Plan on using two downspout elbows, for each downspout corner. You should also plan to use downspout brackets for every eight feet of the piping.
Armed with the measurements, go to your favorite "do it yourself" store. Any place like Lowes, Menards or Home Depot should carry all the products and tools you need. According to the Rain Gutter Installation Instructions, it is highly recommended that you purchase all the same brand product and you will need to decide if you want metal or vinyl gutter system. When you purchase the same product all the way, it is more likely that it will all fit better. Plan on using a hacksaw or miter saw, tin snips, drill bits, drill, tape measure, levels, screwdrivers and ladder for your tools.

Okay, you have all the tools and materials you need for the job. When hanging the brackets, remember that you need to plan on a slight slope towards the downspout. Once the brackets are installed snap gutters into the brackets. The last step to the Rain Gutter Installation Instructions is to add the downspout elbows, the downspout piping section and the last downspout section. Always remember to add brackets every eight feet. It is a good idea to add a short section of downspout piping to run the water away from the house.
